A Lady with A vision

Manal
El Mahdy, the founder of TPA, was always interested in
psychology and education. She received her bachelors degree in
Sociology from the American University in Cairo in 1988 and
pursued her masters degree in psychoanalysis from the University
of Kent in England, 1989. After training as a psychologist for a
year, she moved on to work as an editor of children’s books in
Longman Publishing house for two years. Later, she joined the
Social Fund for development as a community development officer
for four years. Her job responsibility in education programs
gave her the chance to introduce creativity to schools in Upper
Egypt through community schools programs, that allowed the
students to learn through imagination and self expression.
Throughout her experience in psychology and knowledge of the
Egyptian culture, El Mahdy discovered that although the teenage
is critical age that needs to be addressed, it is still ignored
in the majority of the mass media, she also belived that they
needed to have a vehichle in which to express their ides,
thoughts and feelings. That was initially where the whole idea,
or rather vision, came from, it lead to establishment of the TPA
magazines – TeenStuff, Kelmetna and the websites
teenstuffonline.com and kelmetnaonline.com.
TeenStuff Mission
Our mission is to encourage creativity and self- expression
among youth with the aim of broadening their horizons and
increasing their confidence and participation in their
societies. We aim for them to have a voice of their own to be
heard and to believe in themselves and their abilities and
dreams. We aim to support these young talents and promote them
through the best quality mediums in order to have a more
artistic and articulate society that is expressive, creative and
unique in its individuals. Our aim is to walk away from all that
is conventional and to open new doors to the new generations.
Teen Stuff, the only English magazine dedicated to
teens in Egypt and the Middle East. First published in April
1996, Teen Stuff is Egypt's best selling monthly English
magazine with over 12,000 copies in circulation each month. We
believe the magazine's popularity can be attributed to our motto
"From Teens to Teens", to our dedication in addressing teenage
issues and concerns, and to the magazine's quality and
attractive format. Our goal is to improve the quality of life
for Egyptian youths and to build strong, lasting business
relationships with our clients. We have worked relentlessly
towards this goal and will continue to do so in the future. Our
target market is the A and B classes of Egyptian teenagers. This
segment consists of no less than 800,000 individuals, a market
rich with potential. Teens are a significant target market since
they have considerable but undervalued purchasing power. They
are important family members and have substantial influence on
purchasing habits and decisions within their households. In
addition, teens will soon be the leaders of tomorrow. It is
therefore crucial to establish brand awareness at this young age
to ensure continued loyalty from the future clients and/or
employees. Teen Stuff directly interacts with this important
sector of society. It bridges the gap between producer and
consumer and is one of the most effective means of communicating
with this market. Advertisements in our magazine are thus
certain to have a positive impact on potential consumers and
your bottom line. You may design advertisements personally, or
should you prefer, we will design an effective advertising
campaign for your products or services. Understanding that
advertisements are not the only element of a successful
marketing campaign, we are willing to prepare and conduct
consumer surveys on your behalf and conduct focus groups that
largely predict and determine the public's demand for advertised
products or services.
