Mema 2010 The Middle East Music
Awards (MEMA), the most respected musical event
in the Middle East, was held in June 2010.
Dear Guest (DG) organized the ceremony led by
Maged Hosni, Chairman of the Board, in addition
to the two other Board of Directors of the
company. The ceremony was under the auspice of
Trades Union Music and the jury was headed by
artist Mounir El Waseme Association President
and Dr. Gamal Salama.
The concert began with an opening speech by the
board chairman who distributed prizes to the
winners and honorees. The great musician, Ammar
El Sherei, the musician Gamal Salama, artist
Medhat Saleh, artist Afaf Rady, and artist Assi
Hellani were all honored in the ceremony.
Afterwards, prizes were handed to DJ Yasser
Hariri, Lara Iskander, Bashar El Shatey and
Randa Hafez and then the official winners of the
awards were announced.
The winners of this year’s MEMA were: Fadel
Shaker (Best Male singer), Sherine Abdel Wahab,
(Best Female singer), Abdel-Fattah Gereny (Best
Youth singer), Gannat (Best Youth Female
singer), Muhammad Qammah (Best Uprising Male
singer), Omneya Soliman (Best Uprising Female
singer), Walid Saad (Best Composer), Hassan El
Shafie (Best Distributor), Nadir Abdullah (Best
Lyricist), Loay’s Baladna (Best Song), Haifa’s
Baba Fein (Best Music Video), Amr Diab’s Wayah
(Best Album), Mahmoud El Essely’s Ass’ab Haga
(Best Single)and Laila Kanaan (Best Director).
The ceremony was concluded by awarding the Wama
Team with the Almina award.
